Cookie Policy
An honest account of what this website actually uses — which is very little.
Last updated: 3 July 2026
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit. They can remember preferences, track how you use a site, or identify you across visits and across different websites.
"Similar technologies" include local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels — other ways a website can store data on your device or gather information about your visit.
The UK's Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR govern how websites use cookies. Cookies that are not strictly necessary for the site to function require your informed consent before being set.
2. What this website actually uses
The CARER website (carer.wellnetixltd.com and its pages) is a static site — pure HTML, CSS, and a small JavaScript file. It has no server-side code, no analytics platform, no advertising network, and no tracking pixels.
First-party cookies set by us: none. We do not set any cookies from our own domain.
Third-party tracking cookies: none. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, Hotjar, or any other third-party analytics or advertising service on this website.
Local storage / session storage: Our small navigation JavaScript file uses no storage APIs. No data is written to your browser's local or session storage by this site.
3. Google Fonts
This website loads two typefaces — Lora and Inter — from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com).
When your browser fetches a font from Google Fonts, Google may receive your IP address and browser information as part of the standard HTTP request. Google states that it does not use font-loading requests for advertising purposes and does not set persistent cookies on the Google Fonts domain. For details, see Google's Fonts privacy FAQ.
The font files themselves (Lora and Inter) are free and open-source. We load them via Google's CDN for performance. We may in future self-host these fonts to remove this third-party request entirely.
Category: Functional / infrastructure — no consent banner is currently shown for Google Fonts, consistent with the ICO's guidance that CDN infrastructure requests with no tracking purpose do not require explicit consent. If this assessment changes, we will update this policy and add a consent mechanism.
4. The CARER app
The CARER mobile app does not use browser cookies — it is a native app. It stores data on your device using the platform's secure storage mechanisms (iOS Keychain, Android Keystore), which are not cookies and are not accessible to websites.
The app's data handling is covered fully in our Privacy Notice. In summary: your conversations and memory are stored on your device, encrypted. Nothing is shared with advertising networks. The app does not embed any third-party analytics SDKs that track your behaviour or set persistent identifiers.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
Because we set no first-party cookies, there is nothing to manage or clear from our side. However, your browser has built-in controls to view, manage, and delete all cookies from all websites:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Settings → Safari → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
You can also block third-party font requests using a browser extension or a privacy-focused DNS resolver if you prefer to remove the Google Fonts request entirely.
6. Future changes
We may in future add functionality to this website — for example, a contact form, analytics, or a cookie-consent banner — that changes what is set. If we do:
- We will update this policy before making the change.
- We will add a consent mechanism (a banner or preference centre) for any non-essential cookies, as required by PECR and UK GDPR.
- We will never use your data for advertising, and we will never add an advertising network to this site.
If analytics, contact forms, or embeds are added to this site in future, a compliant consent mechanism (a banner or preference centre) will be put in place before any non-essential scripts run, as required by PECR and UK GDPR.
